When this center is closed, the person is not likely that "cosmic feeling" and not understand what they talk about others when they refer to it.


FUNCTIONS OF PINEAL GLAND (also called hepífisis)
Considered by the ancient philosophers as the soul gives way, in front of the pituitary gland. Is about 1 cm long and 5 mm in width. Its dimensions can change with age, however, from the seventh year of age this gland undergoes a progressive involution. Many
data suggest that the pineal gland secretion is not constant and that the appropriate stimulus for secretion to occur are light stimuli, thus providing a "clock criculante" the body, it is speculated that this may constitute a part important mechanisms governing cyclic activities (sleep-wake, etc.).

Hormones of the pineal gland:

Melatonin: a hormone that can lightens the skin, exerting an antagonistic action on the hormone menanófora pituitary. Another action is the inhibition of gonadal development.
