Etymologically, the word mantra comes from Sanskrit words MAN: mind and TRA: free. In other words, a mantra is a sound vibration
to help free our minds from the influence of propaganda, nightmares and anxieties that build up in it. Mantras are
resources to protect our minds against the unproductive cycle of thought and action. Apart from their vibrational
benefits, mantras serve to focus and quiet the mind. By focusing on the repetition of sound, all other
thoughts will gradually fade until the mind is clear and calm.
The word mantra, is primarily used to refer to formulas in verse and prose that are pronounced during liturgical ceremonies
this is not surprising considering that the ritual is precisely where gestures, words and thoughts acquire their
maximum efficiency. The
MANTRAS therefore belong to the domain of the sacred, are the divine language, and its effectiveness is perfect, "provided they are
pronounced properly."
mantras are composed of long sentences with verses, while within Hinduism classic hymns to the gods are
conceived as "MANTRAS chains, where each is a stanza or verse, this principle also exists in the Buddhist litanies.
There are many mantras of the Vedas, as follows: OM
NAMOH BHAGAVATE Vasudevaya OM KRISHNA TU BHAGAVAN svayam NAMOH NARAYANAH The best known and recommended mantra of all is the famous:
HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA HARE RAMA HARE RAMA RAMA RAMA HARE HARE
For a mantra to take effect, it is necessary to understand the language of the mantra. The only sound of mantra, brings the desired effect.
How They Work
¿Cómo used?
spoken aloud or internally in a rhythmic and repetitive.
Some Hindu traditions use a Mapalad a kind of rosary with 108 beads to chant each mantra in cycles
accurate at dawn and sunset.
Amma and other spiritual teachers advise us also recite every time our mind is not concentrated in a job that requires our full attention

ramblings and lack of concentration .
says Judith Anodea spoken aloud for a few minutes early am, "an effective mantra is
reverberating silence, mentally, throughout the day and left us with the imprint of the vibration, the image and meaning.
is believed that with each echo, the magic mantra Centu on the texture of the physical and the mental, in the sense
promote harmony and order. The activity takes on a new rhythm, everything dances to the rhythm of the mantra. If you choose to fast, it will serve to generate energy
and overcoming procrastination. If we resort to a slow mantra, will help us all day to get a state of relaxation and calm. "
TECHNIQUE:
The mantra should be pronounced very carefully and as written (except for the letter H, which is pronounced like a J in
Hare). After our exercises, we must sit for five minutes and repeat the mantra aloud
high enough for us to listen. We repeat the same mantra over and over again. Let your mind bathe in the purifying
vibration emanating from the mantra. Forget everything else. Relax and breathe in the ancient atmosphere of self-realized yogi.
Meditation has another great advantage, because you can practice anywhere and at any time of day: riding the bus or within
of an airplane, when you have only five minutes, or when you are bored with something or someone. Start
repeat the mantra aloud or mentally, if necessary. Immediately you will move away from the noise and
thoughts become clearer.
